Parting is such sweet sorrow!

It was hard to say goodbye but the time had come that we must come home and continue the work that God placed on our hearts. The trip was certainly a mountaintop experience but you can't stay on the mountain forever. At some point, you must take what God has revealed to you and what he has taught you and apply it to your life. There may be a time in the future when God will bring you back to the mountaintop but disciples are made in the valleys in between!

Thank you so much for your support and prayers! We could not have done it without all of you!

The kids and our friends gave us a royal send off!

Hercules

This little guy was brought in by Kendon's secretary, Beatrice. We think he is called a Hercules Beatle and her father gave it to her to show Lee who is and entomologist. It was huge and in my opinion disgusting but Lana had no trouble picking him up. Beatrice owned him for about a month but unfortunately he passed away yesterday. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that Beatrice gave him to the kids for a pet...

Gangsta Willie

Willie was feeling a little Gansta on us the other night. We thought for sure he was going to bust into a rap but we are still waiting for it!

Elmer's House

The whole team got the opportunity to go to have dinner at Elmer's house. Elmer works as a courrier and handyman at the home. Elmer was showing us around when we noticed a vine growing up his back wall. It had some pear shaped fruit hanging from it. His wife Sara showed us one she had picked earlier. While elmer was describing it, Sara surprised us by going inside and cooking one in boiling water and bringing it out for us to try. It was unique but delicious. It was kind of like squash.

Of course Larry couldn't pass up the opportunity to monkey araound a bit... Elmer also maintains the community water tower which stands in his back yard. So Larry decided to climb it! Don't worry Brenda I told Sara she wasn't allowed to.
Some more pictures from Elmer's House...

Michelle

Here is little Michelle on the trampoline. The good news is she gained 3 onces and grew 2 cm in the last 3 months.

New security force

The Children's Home got a new security team this trip... I think it might help with recruiting teenage boys for the next trip!

Larry gets involved

Larry thought he would take a break from the phones to help us with the trees. I'm not sure how helpful he was.

Aubree, Chop that wood!

Aubree did some sawing!

Work boots?

I knew Todd Jackson would want to see my workboots while I was driving the tractor.

There is a Willie in the bucket dear Elijah dear Elijah

Willie got in the bucket to trim some of the trees on the property I had fun driving him around and lifting him up!

Cleaning the tractor

The team started working today by cleaning the tractor. This is called Guatemalan power washing.
